In January 2010, Markus brewed his first beers there under the name \"Markus Hoppe's Garage Brew.\" In 2012, he spent 14 months in Mauritius working for the Flying Dodo Brewing Company. There, the young brewer was able to experiment extensively and gain valuable experience. In 2013, Markus really got going at home. After registering a small business, the garage quickly became too small. Hoppe Brew then began renting spare capacity from other breweries – as a so-called \"cuckoo brewer.\" While attending master brewer school and working as a brewmaster, he brewed diligently and sold more and more beer. In 2016, Markus decided to leave the double workload and dedicate himself to the Hoppe Brew project full-time. The goal was clear – his own brewery! After overcoming all the hurdles in the building permit process, construction began in April 2018. On November 7, 2018, Markus proudly brewed his first beer at home. Since then, the team has been working enthusiastically in their new beer paradise.
