In its heyday, the 1920s, it was also known as Riesling or Champagne Weisse. Even then, it was a beer for special occasions, and now it's an indispensable part of our beer selection. A true classic.\u003cbr\u003e \u003cbr\u003eOur Kaiserweisse is brewed using a method dating back to the 1920s. This involves a double fermentation with different cultures of yeast and lactic acid bacteria, which harmoniously create a wonderful taste experience of acidity, fruit, and malty notes. White wine and cider notes define this beer style.\u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003e Further maturation takes place in the bottles, following the tradition of the Sandweisse. This Berliner Weisse was buried in the Brandenburg sand and only drunk after years. It is dominated by caramel and wood notes, paired with a rich bitterness, the aroma of ripe berries, and a fine acidity.\u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003e Following the success of our BARLEY WINE in 2020, this is a repeat offering for the 2021\/2020 winter menu.\u003cbr\u003e \u003cbr\u003eA barley wine is traditionally made from the first runnings (the core, so to speak) of a brew, as this has the necessary high original gravity to produce a beer with a wine-like alcohol content. The wort is then intensively evaporated. This results in dark colors and intense sweet caramel notes in the beer. Due to its high alcohol content, barley wine has always been reserved for special occasions. At the TYRELL Brewing Art Studio, we use specially selected caramel malts for our barley wine, which are roasted specifically for this beer style at the malt house. We emphasize a pronounced bitterness that balances the malty sweetness.
