Lobik Brewery

HOW IT BEGAN, WHAT OUR NAME MEANS AND WHAT OUR GOAL IS?

It all started when we were fifteen and couldn't buy any beer after rowing practice. We decided to brew our own, because why not? It took eight long years of studying, brewing, experimenting, and working our butts off. And then we were finally satisfied with our beer and decided to open a proper brewery. That's how Lobik Brewery was born. It took another two years, filled with debt and unpaid hours, before our hard work paid off. We were recognized as one of the best breweries in the region.

We're named after the silver carp, a very fatty fish that roams the rivers and lakes of Europe. Its shape resembles the body of one of our brewers after he gave up rowing. With all the fat he's gained, he also got the nickname Lobik. It looks like the whole crew will soon earn that nickname.

The brewery's goal has remained the same from the very beginning: to brew the beers we enjoy drinking. Admittedly, this means they tend to be a bit stronger and more complex in flavor. Consequently, it also means we use only the highest quality ingredients. Anyway, enough about us. We simply hope you enjoy our beers and drink them with the same pleasure we do!

Cheers!
