The world is facing major challenges. This affects every single one of us, us as a society, and us as a company. We are aware that online retail entails an increased carbon footprint. With every step and every bit of growth that is possible thanks to you as part of our amazing craft beer community, we also want to give something back. We have taken several measures to save as much CO2 as possible, offset our emissions , and even neutralize additional CO2 .
Shipping at Beer Belly Cologne is climate neutral! We are a partner of "Planet" and therefore automatically offset the CO2 emissions generated during the individual shipping of our packages.
But that's not all. For every order you place with Beer Belly Cologne, the Eden Reforestation Project plants a tree, and together we improve our carbon footprint. Learn more about the project here . Our Impact Report provides transparent updates on our progress.
We collect all our beers directly from regional breweries. Short and direct routes are good for the beer and the environment.
We also receive beer deliveries by mail. We reuse the cardboard boxes provided by the breweries to send you the beer. So don't be surprised if you receive a used, not new, box.
To save resources, especially for our shipping partners, we pack your order in the smallest possible packaging size.
Messorem is a project conceived by Marc-André Filion, Sébastien Chaput, and Vincent Ménard. Each member brings different strengths that combine to create a brewery, a passion that has driven them for several years. For them, Messorem Bracitorium is the bridge between their hobby (craft beer) and their daily work with friends.
To bring our microbrewery to life, we needed help and guidance, but above all, we needed financial support. Marc-André's father, Christian Biron, was impressed by the team's tenacity in realizing our dream project. As he saw the progress of our work and tasted the various beers that Vincent, our brewer, had produced, Christian became increasingly convinced that the three friends had a great opportunity. He told his best friend, François Gareau, a longtime associate with whom he had invested in real estate for many years. Christian explained the "Messorem" project to him and spoke of the team's seriousness and determination to make the brewery a reality. The two childhood friends finally decided to take on the project after discovering the future premises of the company on the Lachine Canal, at 2233 Pitt Street, at the intersection with St. Patrick Street.
François Gareau has been a mathematics professor at Charles Lemoyne College on the south side of Montreal for more than 25 years. He loves real estate and everything related to it, and practices karate in his spare time. He mainly drinks wine, but also enjoys trying different beers whenever he's offered them. He's our "we-act" wizard and our chief negotiator.
Christian Biron has been a pharmaceutical inventory and recovery foreman at the Jean Coutu Group for 30 years. With retirement approaching, he sees Messorem Bracitorium as a way to escape the daily grind and a pleasant project to enjoy in his retirement years. He is a very good beer drinker and is urging Vincent to brew a pilsner (to be continued). Christian is our methodical operations manager, and "Do you have any other suggestions?"
