The world is facing major challenges. This affects every single one of us, us as a society, and us as a company. We are aware that online retail entails an increased carbon footprint. With every step and every bit of growth that is possible thanks to you as part of our amazing craft beer community, we also want to give something back. We have taken several measures to save as much CO2 as possible, offset our emissions , and even neutralize additional CO2 .
Shipping at Beer Belly Cologne is climate neutral! We are a partner of "Planet" and therefore automatically offset the CO2 emissions generated during the individual shipping of our packages.
But that's not all. For every order you place with Beer Belly Cologne, the Eden Reforestation Project plants a tree, and together we improve our carbon footprint. Learn more about the project here . Our Impact Report provides transparent updates on our progress.
We collect all our beers directly from regional breweries. Short and direct routes are good for the beer and the environment.
We also receive beer deliveries by mail. We reuse the cardboard boxes provided by the breweries to send you the beer. So don't be surprised if you receive a used, not new, box.
To save resources, especially for our shipping partners, we pack your order in the smallest possible packaging size.
ATELIER VRAI was founded in 2016 by Nico Döring (known as ATELIER DER BRAUKÜNSTE). We started at Romrod Castle with a nano-brewing system, but due to the high demand for our beers, we switched to a Gypsy brewing system. Since 2017, we have been brewing in Bamberg at Brauhaus Binkert, a family-run brewery with a modern 15 hl system. Since 2021, we have also been brewing at Glaab's Bräu in Seligenstadt. Unusually for Gypsy Brewers, we have our own modern bottling plant in collaboration with our friends at Blech.Brut Brewing.
We focus on classic beer styles like Big Hazy IPAs and recently launched a barrel-aged program with over 100 different casks. With our HANDSTAND Sours, we once again demonstrate our love for art, unorthodox ideas, and our passion for super-fruity beers. Craft beer is, for us, a cultural movement centered on enjoyment, high-quality and unique ingredients, creativity, diversity, fair trade, sustainability, exceptional design, and passionate people. We love art, often paired with biting sarcasm or irony. We have a penchant for distinctive words, neologisms, and eye-catching packaging. We incorporate all of this into the design of our cans. We always release our beers in series, each with a specific theme and consisting of five different beers. We love searching for unique photos and experimenting with special coatings, scents, or scratch-off inks on our labels.
In 2022, we moved our company headquarters from Romrod Castle to Heidelbach, where we acquired an old farmstead together with friends. Here we have even more space for ideas, creativity, and exciting future projects.
