Munich Helles is Bavaria's answer to the emerging North German Pilsners. Brewed with softer Bavarian water, less hops, and more grain, it is maltier, less bitter, subtly spicy, and very drinkable. Helles is popular not only in southern Germany but also in Austria. There, it's called Märzen, but it's like a German Helles (and not a German Märzen).
