The world is facing major challenges. This affects every single one of us, us as a society, and us as a company. We are aware that online retail entails an increased carbon footprint. With every step and every bit of growth that is possible thanks to you as part of our amazing craft beer community, we also want to give something back. We have taken several measures to save as much CO2 as possible, offset our emissions , and even neutralize additional CO2 .
Shipping at Beer Belly Cologne is climate neutral! We are a partner of "Planet" and therefore automatically offset the CO2 emissions generated during the individual shipping of our packages.
But that's not all. For every order you place with Beer Belly Cologne, the Eden Reforestation Project plants a tree, and together we improve our carbon footprint. Learn more about the project here . Our Impact Report provides transparent updates on our progress.
We collect all our beers directly from regional breweries. Short and direct routes are good for the beer and the environment.
We also receive beer deliveries by mail. We reuse the cardboard boxes provided by the breweries to send you the beer. So don't be surprised if you receive a used, not new, box.
To save resources, especially for our shipping partners, we pack your order in the smallest possible packaging size.
Benchtop Brewing was founded as a unique, innovative, and dedicated resource for the local community of Norfolk, Virginia. Thoughtfully conceived by owners Eric and Talia, Benchtop Brewing places great emphasis on being a family-owned and operated small business.
The idea for the brewery had been brewing in Eric's head for a long time before it was put into practice in 2015.
Eric worked as a food scientist and spent years in research and development, quality control, process improvement and consumer insights, where he gained the experience he needed to open the brewery.
In the field of innovation, the first iteration of a new prototype is commonly referred to as a benchtop probe.
The name caught his eye, and after 15 years of experience, Eric traded his lab coat for brewery shoes and opened Benchtop Brewing. In 2018, Talia left her nursing job and joined the team as Operations Manager. Together, they create a harmonious blend of this scientific approach and artistic freedom to craft a truly unique drinking experience.
The wine tasting room has become a hub for locals in the Chelsea neighborhood of Norfolk.
Benchtop was built on a wonderful connection with the community and is firmly rooted in their trust to consistently produce a creative and innovative beer experience. Enjoy a beer overlooking the beautiful Elizabeth River Trail, which passes by the tasting room and research facility, where you can always find Eric and Talia refining their drinks in the name of continuous improvement.
