The world is facing major challenges. This affects every single one of us, us as a society, and us as a company. We are aware that online retail entails an increased carbon footprint. With every step and every bit of growth that is possible thanks to you as part of our amazing craft beer community, we also want to give something back. We have taken several measures to save as much CO2 as possible, offset our emissions , and even neutralize additional CO2 .
Shipping at Beer Belly Cologne is climate neutral! We are a partner of "Planet" and therefore automatically offset the CO2 emissions generated during the individual shipping of our packages.
But that's not all. For every order you place with Beer Belly Cologne, the Eden Reforestation Project plants a tree, and together we improve our carbon footprint. Learn more about the project here . Our Impact Report provides transparent updates on our progress.
We collect all our beers directly from regional breweries. Short and direct routes are good for the beer and the environment.
We also receive beer deliveries by mail. We reuse the cardboard boxes provided by the breweries to send you the beer. So don't be surprised if you receive a used, not new, box.
To save resources, especially for our shipping partners, we pack your order in the smallest possible packaging size.
Blanq was founded by five entrepreneurs from the Rhineland. We have been working independently in marketing, gastronomy, trade and sales for years.
We are beer lovers and friends of the Eifel region – we enjoy living here or regularly take short breaks in the area.
Blankenheim, summer of 2020 during the pandemic: As we sat together again, bored by the melancholy atmosphere and enjoying a beer, two things struck us: Firstly, the selection of good, handcrafted beers from the Eifel region is still quite limited. And secondly, sustainable tourism in the Eifel could be promoted more effectively: recreation close to home and within our own country, (cycling) hiking, and local offerings for nature, culture, and culinary enthusiasts.
Our idea: We're launching a truly excellent, traditional beer. Supported by social media, our own promotions, and events. We support sustainable initiatives and local businesses by featuring them and integrating them into our marketing. Always a little unconventional, but always with love and humor. In this way, we're creating a beer brand that promotes sustainable projects, local craftspeople, restaurants, and tourism businesses in urban areas, and literally draws people in. From the Eifel region – for the Eifel region.
The problem is: we know a lot about many things, just not about brewing. And if it's going to be a "local beer," then the brewery and the ingredients have to come from here, too. With the Vulkan Brewery from Mendig, we've found the perfect partner. Award-winning specialists in craft beers, certified as a regional brand in the Eifel region, and passionate about what they do. A perfect fit!
The first result of our collaboration: Eifeler Helles. A local beer that tastes great and stands out. And best of all: it evokes a longing for the countryside!
