The world is facing major challenges. This affects every single one of us, us as a society, and us as a company. We are aware that online retail entails an increased carbon footprint. With every step and every bit of growth that is possible thanks to you as part of our amazing craft beer community, we also want to give something back. We have taken several measures to save as much CO2 as possible, offset our emissions , and even neutralize additional CO2 .
Shipping at Beer Belly Cologne is climate neutral! We are a partner of "Planet" and therefore automatically offset the CO2 emissions generated during the individual shipping of our packages.
But that's not all. For every order you place with Beer Belly Cologne, the Eden Reforestation Project plants a tree, and together we improve our carbon footprint. Learn more about the project here . Our Impact Report provides transparent updates on our progress.
We collect all our beers directly from regional breweries. Short and direct routes are good for the beer and the environment.
We also receive beer deliveries by mail. We reuse the cardboard boxes provided by the breweries to send you the beer. So don't be surprised if you receive a used, not new, box.
To save resources, especially for our shipping partners, we pack your order in the smallest possible packaging size.
Blue Tapir – that's Cem Toker and Kevin Kader (certified beer sommelier, Craft Beer Tasting NRW)
For years, we've shared a passion for exceptional beers. Whether exploring pubs in and around Cologne, or especially while traveling, we love immersing ourselves in the local beer culture. The world of beer offers an incredible diversity of flavors, countless styles, and brewing methods. No matter where we drink beer, we're curious and interested in the people and their stories.
We were driven by the desire to brew exactly the beers we enjoy drinking and to share them with as many people as possible. Hence, Blue Tapir.
Kevin Kader: "The best beer tastes when you drink it together. That's true not only in Cologne, but everywhere."
Beer culture
Don't be intimidated by the terminology: Whether you call it craft beer, artisan beer, or creative beer, what matters is the enjoyment of brewed products. We're not afraid to use these terms interchangeably. What's far more important is that the beers are brewed with natural, high-quality ingredients and deliver something special to the glass.
Even though "craft beer" might sound trendy to some, it actually refers to the traditional approach to brewing beer before industrial production methods took hold. We're not fans of pre-processed hop extract or chemical filtration processes. Whatever you want to call it, we're passionate about natural, flavorful beers.
Blue Tapir aims to appeal to both craft beer enthusiasts and those open to new flavor discoveries. We enjoy sitting down with everyone. That's what we value about beer culture: its ability to connect people across consumer groups, mentalities, and even social classes and backgrounds. Because our beer is for everyone and is meant to bring people together.
Cem Toker: “The enthusiasm, the great experiences we have had: everything comes together in our beers.”
Our goal
We are against a dogmatic approach to drinking beer that dictates there is only one style and one brand, but also against hop snobbery and know-it-all attitudes about beer. Life is too short and the diversity of beer is too great for that!
We believe that the local beer market should be more inspired by international diversity and innovation. At the same time, the various beer cultures of North Rhine-Westphalia are far too underrepresented on a national level. Both sides could and should enrich each other, as exciting approaches, techniques, and brewing traditions exist everywhere.
This is what we understand by Blue Tapir: open to everything, eager for life.
