SOMMERPAUSE

Gorilla Cerveceria Berlin

Our story begins in Buenos Aires in 2008. Two brothers have the brilliant idea of brewing their own beer. Soon after, their mother's balcony is full of beer barrels!

Ramiro, the older of the two, experiments with all sorts of ingredients to constantly develop new and exciting recipes. He teaches himself a great deal, but also attends every brewing course that's offered. His trademark—and thus, of course, Gorilla's as well—is the use of the finest ingredients and innovative recipes.

Gorilla made a name for itself and grew primarily in Argentina. The brothers opened a bar, then a second, and a third. Demand could no longer be met by brewing in their bathtub or at friends' breweries, so the two decided to start their own brewery. Nicolas, the younger of the two, took charge of the finances, organizing purchasing, logistics, and all the administration. The biggest challenge was fighting inflation.

The story of Gorilla is a family story. Specifically, the story of a growing family. The brothers' cousin, Lu, fell in love with a German man, David, and moved to Berlin. The brothers needed no further reason to finally pay a visit to the land of beer. And what can they say? They both loved the country, and especially the city, with its vibrant mix of people, late-night convenience stores, and so much more! A short time later, Ramiro returned to Berlin to complete a six-month course at the VLB (Association of Berlin Brewers). And so began the dream of opening a brewery in Berlin.

In 2020, Lu and David took a break to travel through South America. They met the brothers at the annual hop festival in El Bolsón, Patagonia. On a sunny day, surrounded by hops and with a delicious beer in hand, they laid the foundation for Gorilla Craft Beer GmbH. Back then, no one imagined a global pandemic waiting for us at home. But even that won't stop us! With David as our new CEO, we are proud to announce that we have already started brewing in Berlin! We are looking forward to the exciting times ahead and are excited to share them with you all, just like our beer!

Greetings
