The world is facing major challenges. This affects every single one of us, us as a society, and us as a company. We are aware that online retail entails an increased carbon footprint. With every step and every bit of growth that is possible thanks to you as part of our amazing craft beer community, we also want to give something back. We have taken several measures to save as much CO2 as possible, offset our emissions , and even neutralize additional CO2 .
Shipping at Beer Belly Cologne is climate neutral! We are a partner of "Planet" and therefore automatically offset the CO2 emissions generated during the individual shipping of our packages.
But that's not all. For every order you place with Beer Belly Cologne, the Eden Reforestation Project plants a tree, and together we improve our carbon footprint. Learn more about the project here . Our Impact Report provides transparent updates on our progress.
We collect all our beers directly from regional breweries. Short and direct routes are good for the beer and the environment.
We also receive beer deliveries by mail. We reuse the cardboard boxes provided by the breweries to send you the beer. So don't be surprised if you receive a used, not new, box.
To save resources, especially for our shipping partners, we pack your order in the smallest possible packaging size.
Norm Brewing was founded by Julien Germain and Martial Goffin, born from travels where we fell in love with taprooms and microbreweries offering an endless array of modern beers. True temples of innovation, where people and beer lovers can share and discover the brewery's personality. There's something else that captures our attention, another aspect that continues to fascinate us: art and design! Far removed from the traditional style we know in Belgium, we believe that the artwork and design tell a story behind each beer, making every brew unique and contributing to a more complex and enjoyable taste experience. These places and this modern spirit left an indelible impression, becoming the driving force behind Norm.
Our story began in 2018, like many in this industry, with friends, a cellar (the Germain family's blue cellar, which inspired our flagship Hazy Pale), a few tanks, and weekends of homebrewing!
We tried various beer styles such as lager, stout, gose, and Baltic porter, but IPAs quickly caught our attention. The aromatic complexity of the hops, the countless blending possibilities, and the regional character fascinated us.
The project was originally launched in 2020 under the name "Local Heroes," and we started by primarily brewing a flavorful but low-alcohol (5.5% ABV) pale ale. This was in contrast to the Belgian market for "specialty beers."
In 2022, we felt that the project had taken another step forward and decided to change our name and branding to “Norm Brewing”.
Today we brew different beers each month from our core, seasonal and limited range, which are distributed in various countries.
